Certified Professional Erosion and Sediment Control Specialist (CPESC)

A CPESC is a recognized specialist in soil erosion and sediment control. The certification program, sponsored by the Soil and Water Conservation Society in cooperation with the American Society of Agronomy, provides the public with evidence of professional qualifications.

Applicants submit application before a review panel of prominent CPESCs and must pass a written and oral exam before certification

Requirements:

  1. BS in engineering geology, soil science, natural resource management, agronomy, or related field, plus six years of professional level experience in soil erosion and sediment control.
  2. MS in any of the above plus four years of professional level experience.
  3. PhD in any of the above plus two years of professional level experience in soil erosion and sediment control.
